Think our insurance premiums are high here? Try living in Florida.

They are losing insurers and rates are going up 20%-50%. They blame some of the increase on roof scams but wth do they expect? It's florida and there's something called hurricanes.

Can you explain this a little better? Especially the first bolded sentence.
Part of your car insurance is medical coverage, if you are injured in an accident.
If you have medical, that is 24/7, deduct the med coverage on your vehicle.

You select your coverage and deductible.
Coverage A has $250 deductible and $650 premium for 6 months.
Coverage B has $600 deductible and $550 premium for 6 months.

IF you have a claim, you pay $350 more
In 2 years, your saved the $400 that you would have paid.

Compare then options.

Same in medical coverage.

At work, I can opt for $600 or $1500 deductible. We rarely went to Drs.
The $900 of insurance (deductible) is $80 per month ($960 per year)
Many choose the law deductible because they live so close to line, a surprise bill terrifies them. Live within y our means, plan ahead and save money on their scam.

I wasn't referring to the deductible stuff but yes, someone should take the highest deductible they can. I was asking about the medical coverage, which acts more as uninsured coverage for those in your vehicle, and if you're at fault. It can definitely be supplemental to your health insurance. Usually not a high cost addition, so be careful talking people out of it.

Finally, insurance isn't a scam. It's a contract between two parties. Only problem is that those who buy it, don't read the contract.

At one time, yes. Now, insurance is into profits and self promotion, not in paying claims and helping people.

You shouldn't be canceling your Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage just because you have good health insurance. UM is a much more broad coverage. It covers members of your household in other cars outside your household. It covers passengers in your car that aren't in your household. It can cover your wife and kid if you cause the wreck. It will stacks on other coverages in various examples. It also covers things like pain & suffering that your health insurance doesn't.

Med Pay (C coverage) is met to cover your health insurance deductible. They coverages are so small, it's not paying for a surgery.

No it's still the same as it ever was..... insurance was never into "helping people" and always about profits. It's always been, and always will, be a contract between two parties. Some companies hold up their end better than others.
