Anyone else make their own holsters?

Not bad...not bad at all.

I tried doing a holster once. It was a cobbled up atrocity.

There's definitely an art to leathercraft.

I decided to settle the best OWB for a J-Frame, if I don't like this one then I can iron out my mistakes and make a new one for about a dollar.

Keep working. That looks good. Function is more important than looks, especially for a CCW.

I built a pocket holster for my 605 last night and after completely drying I think it turned out good for my first. I will get pics of it around lunch.

I roll my own kydex as well. Here are some that I have made. I have pretty much settled on the hybrid for my main carry holster.

Where do you guys get your kydex sheets?

I found some pretty reasonable on Ebay... what I'm wondering is what I need for a leather backing. Like what thickness do I need, what quality are we talking about, etc. How do I know?

I charge $50 for the Crossbreed Style...I can usually have it you the same day(providing I have materials). The last Holster I made, the guy didn't want to be without his gun so he came over to my house and I made it for him there to his liking. He wanted little things different.
I charge $40 for Kydex Holsters.

Anyways here are the pics of the holster I made last night.

It was my first time to layer leather and also my first time to use rivets. I need to work on making my rivets more symmetrical and the finished edges but other than that I think it came out ok.

These holsters are really neat.
What kind of rivets do you use for this, and where could I find some .... along with whatever tools I'd need to install them?
Are these a one-piece rivet?
