Anyone else not bought any gun-related stuff since all this craziness started?

Let me see....

1.) 10/31/2012 Bought (6) Hi-cap mags for my S&W M&P 15-22 even before I bought the rifle. About $18 each

2.) 11/2/2012 Bought the S&W M&P 15-22 well below MSRP - just had to shop around

3.) 11/4/2012 Bought S&W Bodyguard .380 for my spouse - Academy prices below MSRP

4.) 12/31/2012 Sold #3 - she wanted more "power" - made a small about $20 profit due to price increases and availability issues

5.) 11/2-2/15 Purchased 3,000 rounds 22Lr for #2 - Paid no more than $20 for a 525 round brick. This includes waiting patiently for backorders from several large online retailers.

NEWTOWN, CT Shooting 12/14/2012

6.) 1/20/2013 Purchased Ruger LCR .38 Special +P revolver. Below MSRP.

7.) 1/27/2013 Sold #6. Made made a small profit due to price increases and availability issues.

8.) 12/1/2012 - 2/15/2013 Handgun ammo starting to show up at LGS and Academy - start accumulating a box or two each week...

9.) 1/30/2013 Bought S&W M&P .40 for the spouse. She is in love with her pistol... Paid below MSRP at Academy. Starting buying extra 15 round mags wherever they could be found.

10.) 2/7/2013 Bought S&W M&P .40 for me. We found and bought 4 additional Hi-cap mags at below MSRP.

So, to answer the OP, yes we continued to shop and purchase shooting supplies when good deals could be found. Were prices higher than 2008? Sure. But we're never going back to the good ole' days. All we can do is the best we can do...

I have found a few good deals from fellow members. Have gotten a fair price on a Saiga from a supplier. I have found a few good deals here and there but thats it. I feel fortunate that I had what I wanted before all the craziness started.

Bought an M&P-22 pistol for my daughter and I to use at local matches.
Had a case of 22lr from WM before the limits.
I don't want to use the 9mm and .40 for matches until we can replace it at regular prices.
I figure the 22 pistol will pay for itself in ammo savings and peace of mind not running out of other ammo or waiting in line at 7am to try and get a box of 9mm.
