Much in the same way that Democratic lawmakers lost re-elections after passing ObamaCare against the wishes of their constituents.

This is what happens when lawmakers make kneejerk decisions...especially after seeing gun control being shot down at the national level.

I hope you're right!

Not recalled yet but the first step has been taken with a petition filing that has lots of signatures. Key paragraph:

The recall is not official until the Secretary of State's office certifies that there are at least 7,178 valid signatures, or 25 percent of the number of ballots cast in the election that Morse won in 2010. Organizers of the recall effort are confident that they have more than enough signatures to withstand scrutiny.

In another article on another website, Morse already has his hand out for Bloomie's group to fill. Hope the recall group is ready to fight that kind of money.

What is sad is it shouldn't even be a issue involving money. Bloomie shouldn't even be allowed to weigh in on this either. The people who elected this official feel he is no longer right for the position & have filed the proper paperwork. If allowed to be voted in by the taxpayers then being allowed to be voted out should be fair game as well. No one should be allowed to come to his rescue.

I predict that the wealthy anti's will make sure he gets a lucrative position if he is recalled. To do otherwise would be stupid.

Here, but occasionally There.
Not to rain on any parades, but don't the citizens of Colorado have to vote on the recall? I was under the perception that a recall petition is simply done in order to get recall elections "authorized," thus the need to have a percentage of the total of the votes cast.

Yes, that's why Morse has his hand out to Bloomie to get campaign funding so the money can talk rather than the people in the district.

And it's sure a wake up call to other lawmakers that a recall was able to happen so quickly and successfully.
This will cost the state of Colorado some dollars, I'd imagine.

Much of Colorado already is upset by the influence "out of towners" had in putting pressure to outlaw firearms, and much will be made of the rich mayor from NYC who has influence over their state.
This has been the case in Nevada.
