Spring-type knife is largely debated on this site - assisted-opened are widely considered to not be a "spring-type knife" by many - not so much by others.

Welcome to the world of vague definitions written in laws.

wow! that thing is awesome, but I think it definitely falls on the wrong side of that law. I almost think the law was clear when written and new knife designs made it a little muddy later on.

This is from the Oklahoma SDA:

TITLE 21 § 1272. Unlawful carry
UNLAWFUL CARRY
A. It shall be unlawful for any person to carry upon or about his or her
person, or in a purse or other container belonging to the person, any
pistol, revolver, shotgun or rifle whether loaded or unloaded or any
dagger, bowie knife, dirk knife, switchblade knife, spring-type knife,
sword cane, knife having a blade which opens automatically by hand
pressure applied to a button, spring, or other device in the handle of the
knife,
blackjack, loaded cane, billy, hand chain, metal knuckles, or any
other offensive weapon, whether such weapon be concealed or
unconcealed, except this section shall not prohibit:

It continues, but I think that only LEO, Fire Department and active military can carry a knive of this type.

Anyone else have a better interpretation?

This is the catch-all part that will get you in trouble depending on the interpretation of the LEO that looks at your knife. You could almost include my flipper (that does not have a spring in it) in this catagory.

knife,

the [button, spring, or other device] (the flipper) is not "IN" the handle - the flipper is outside of the handle, so that's not applicable to Kershaw AOs that are activated via flipper.
