Right now my wife is in the hospital, no parole date known. May need surgery, may not, testing to be continued tomorrow... I'm spending 10-14 hours a day here with her..

No problem. Someone came and got the most ripe ones already. The other cactus are pretty much ripe now too.

Fun fact: if you puree prickly pears and pineapple, add some sugar, then freeze the mix it tastes like banana.

Bananas taste even more like bananas. No sugar or pineapple or freezing necessary

For the record, it's so dry in grant county that our prickly pear cactus is dying for lack of water.

Mine make a small fruit.
Burn the fine stickers off of the lighter.
Taste test. Makes me appreciate civilization and not having to eat that to survive.

theres one big prickly pear cactus that I'm planning on tearing out when I widen my driveway. You can take as much of it as you want to plant at your place.
