I have recently decided on building a new ar15 carbine. I have been looking at lower receivers and was wondering what is the difference? Are all built to identical specifications? Would I just be paying for the name?

There are four major companies that make lowers, then they ship them and the manufacture stamps them. Neither Colt, Smith, Wilson, RRA or Noveske make thier own lower recievers. I would buy something in the middle so your resale value is still good. But the name on the side of the reciever is about the only differance.
