There is a guy on Sniper's Hide that sells plates. I bought my 1/2" 45% IPSC target from him. It is very nice. 338 Lapua is no problem. He goes by osuarchitect on there. Pretty cool guy. He offers 3/8 and 1/2" thick targets. 25%, 45%, 50%, 66%, and 100% size IPSC targets. He cuts them on a water jet so the hardness isn't lost on the edges. You can definitely tell the difference if you hit a plasma or torch cut target on the edge compared to these water jet cut ones.

I would recomend seperate plates for rifle and pistol. Evan 1/2in ar500 will start to pit at 100ydsm if you shot a pistol at pitted steel, the chances of getting fragged goes up. I use 3/8 ar500 for pistol, and 1/2 for rifle.
