Are you willing to kill a man over a microphone? This Norman man apparently was

Let's please not feed the anti-gun trolls (who are most likely watching this board) with statements of stupidity regarding gun-ownership.

Holy crap.

Shooting at a fleeing vehicle is never a good idea. There's about 10 things that can go wrong, like the guy crashing into an innocent bystander, and really nothing that can go right. Of course in Texas it would be legally to shoot at, and kill, a fleeing dude for stealing a pack of gum.

Don't really care what the antis get. It makes no difference. I do like the idea that a thief has to think about lead poisoning before deciding if stealing someone else's stuff is a good idea. Look at your paycheck lately?

I'd sure like to hear the tune that those who claim they would kill another man over a stolen microphone would be singing in the aftermath...

Have fun dealing with the police.
Have fun paying the lawyers.
Have fun possibly ending up in prison.
Have fun being paraded on the media.
Have fun getting sued by the man's family.
Have fun looking over your shoulder for the possible revenge.
Have fun living with the inevitable guilt.

but most of all,

Have a good time explaining it to whatever God you choose to worship, especially on the hour of your own death.

It's not so much the microphone. . .it's the idea of personal property being stolen and you not being able to do anything. Does anybody really think law enforcement is gonna do ANYTHING if you call and say "hey, a guy just stole a microphone from me?"

So at what point would you be willing to kill to protect property? Somebody stealing your flat screen TeeVee? Somebody taking your boat? Somebody burning down your (empty of human life) house? At some point, I have days/weeks/months/years of my *life* tied up in whatever you are taking. You may in fact be taking my very livelihood (which is why rustlers used to be hung from the closest tree).

So. . .you (and I'm speaking of the generic "you", not a particular person in this thread) say you can't kill over property, yet you are willing to call law enforcement who will come (with force. . .and bringing the possibility of death) to capture the person who stole from you.

I'm not gonna argue that shooting somebody for a $50 microphone is okay. I am gonna argue that thieves are less like to ply their trade if they think there is a heightened chance of death involved.

you replies: I didnt say I wouldnt shoot them, just that you cant legally defend property.

.And a very good point , thieves are the worst kinda ...well you got the idea.

.(and HE still already knows)

.((and it might depend on who else is listening))
