I've been wondering when people were going to chime in about this. If someone stole my T.V., would ATF do a check to see if it was a legally owned T.V.?

Actually, I think it is standard procedure to check property that was recovered to see if it was reported stolen at another time, especially guns and electronics.

If the seizing agency has the owner info anf the guns were reported stolen then once the criminal cas is done with the courts the owner will be able to retrieve the weapons.
