50 injured, 14 dead.... One shooter???
That's just plain sad. This is one of those "take him out back and put him down" kinda crimes.
Theater is a pretty captive audience, only a couple ways out and that's if you can get past him at the front.

Shooter is talking to police ...24 yr old white male.. James Holmes. Said the tear gas was to panic the people into crowding together at the exits so that he was shooting into crowds.. knowing that the bullets would be more effective due to pass through hitting more than one person with each shot. Also bullets were going through the theater walls hitting people watching other movies. Apparently he had forced open a emergency exit and made his way to the screen. Reports are that he was wearing a bullet proof vest.

Police spokesman Frank Fania said the suspect was thought to be in his early 20s. He was carrying a knife, a rifle and a handgun when arrested, and one other gun was recovered from the theater. The gunman was also wearing a bulletproof vest.
