Gotta hand it to Prophet, he's one bad dude with a welder. He started building my new pit this weekend. I can't wait till it's done!

Nice looking smoker. I have a friend that is working on one with 30" pipe as we speak. I like your design of the fire box being lower than meat box. He is putting his fire box same level as the meat.

Thanks guys!! I've been dreaming/designing this thing for 2 years. It's a monster. The smoke chamber is 30" O.D. 1/4" wall pipe and is 7ft. long. The firebox is a piece of 28" O.D. 1/2" wall pipe.

Me and a buddy started working on this thing 1 year ago, just kinda tinkering with it in his garage. About 6 months ago we realized this project was a little too big for a couple of rednecks in a garage with cheap equipment to handle (frankly, I'm surprised we didn't burn his house down). I found Prophet on OSA and he took over. He and a co-worker accomplished in one day more than I did in months! BTW if you need any welding done be sure to seek out Prophet. The man has skillz.

I can't wait to get it sandblasted, painted and seasoned so I can put it to work!!! I outgrew my little smoker years ago but just haven't had the gumption to make the leap into a commercial/competition sized smoker. That's about to change though. I'm hoping within a few years to be able to earn a living with that thing.

Here's a side view of the massive firebox:

that thing is beast. How much do you estimate it weighs?

I'm gonna guess when completed between 1200-1500 lbs. For now its on steel casters welded onto skids. The trailer I bought for it to go on is an old MKT-85. I was planning on building a whole kitchen on a trailer but at this point I don't know if it's gonna work out. I am afraid that this pit is gonna weigh too much to put on just one side of the single axle trailer. I had in mind a galley kitchen idea...smoker on one side...counter and sink on the other, walkway between.

This is not my trailer, I pulled this image from google (I can't find my pics..I guess they are on the other PC) but it will give you an idea of what I'm trying to do. My trailer doesn't have any canvas or the original counters/cooktops etc. It's a blank slate.
