The flu shot obviously caused your illness.
JB has not answered the question about the flu shot. This year they actually picked the right flu shot, and it doesn't cause the flu. Any reaction will be far far milder than this year's version of the flu, which is a bad motor scooter.
For anybody who hasn't taken it yet, it's not too late. Starts building antibodies in three days and is fully effective in ten.
Flu kills a bunch of folks every year. Most have other health issues (not likely to be anybody with health issues in OSA) but some go from healthy to dead from the flu every year. Not a risk I want to take.
I should have taken the damn shot. I didn't. My doc told me to, and I just kept putting it off. Just more evidence that I am not nearly as smart as I like to think!

I never get the flu. Maybe once every 5 years. However, I am a fat, old man and not the head turning Adonis I once was. I just have to accept the fact I have become a mere mortal.
I had the flu once ... Only time in my life I honestly thought I might die. I made GC get one (and a pneumonia shot, too) this year. He was sicker than a run-over dog ...
(Yeah, he's gonna get it next year too ... If he dies on me before he gets retired Ima gonna kilt his arse ...)
I haven't had a flu shot in about 4 years. And I haven't been sick in that amount of time either. Until now. Dammit.....
I've had the flu shot for 8 straight years now, and haven't had it a single time. I did get my pneumonia vaccine last year for the first time. I'm prone to it apparently, and after 3 times the doc said I better get it.
