Hi there!
I'm new to shooting, and I have, I guess, a stupid question :)
I'm looking for someplace to practice shooting outside, it looks like it's legal in OK, according to RECREATIONAL SHOOTING rules.
But what's confusing for me: is how to understand where you can and where you can't shoot.
There is a map , but still, I have no idea where are those "99 percent of BLM-managed lands" which are open to shooting.
I'm living in Yukon, trying to find something more or less close to home.
Thanks for any info or advice!

Many of the State Wildlife Management Areas have shooting ranges located within the management area. Look on the ODWC website - I think they are listed there. You do need a current hunting license to access the ranges.

Edit - here is a link:

Only one I know of is Comanche National Grassland just inside Colorado and north of Boise City. Quite a haul from Yukon.

I used to shoot there when working in CO. That ain't Oklahoma but it's as close as you are probably gonna find unless Chickasaw National Recreation Area allows shooting. Not sure if it's BLM either. It is in the NPS though so maybe?
