Hey All,

I've been getting a "hankering" for some boiled peanuts. Since its Mardi Gras time, it got me to thinking about Louisanna and Mississippi. Which in turn got me to thinking about food, which in turn got me to thinking about boiled peanuts........psychosomatic disorder.....yes!!!

I know I can buy them on-line, I know I can use recipes and cookup my own, what I want to know is....

Has anyone seen them in the grocery stores in Oklahoma......Tulsa....S.E.Oklahoma?? If so, what store and location?? Would like to take a road trip to the store!! I can get Boudin(pronounced boo..dan) here in OKC, just not the boiled peanuts.

**Yes, they will be canned and not fresh** I have never seen a roadside stand in Oklahoma....rightly so. This is a true deep South food item!!

***Remember.....not roasted, not raw, not flavored....boiled....boiled peanuts.

Fresh....Mmmmmm:

Call Mason's Nut House on hwy9 just west of Riverwind on north side of the road. 329-7828.

They say they boil fresh daily and also have canned and "microwavable" pouches.

Mason's is great for anything nutty. They have buckets of oil roasted spanish peanuts that are absolutely addicting.

I have bought them in the Peanut Shoppe. Not sure if you have one that far north but we have one on Hwy 75 in Calera. Used to be a Stuckeys many years ago.

Now that I know this, I might just have to stop in there and get some to try on my next trip to Academy and Gander Mountain.

I wouldnt think Hebert's would have them, boiled peanuts is a "southern" thang, not really a "cajun" thing..

NOLA isnt cajun, creole more than anything.

I grew up in South LA and have never seen nor have eatin "boiled peanuts".. I've heard of them, from them mississippi boys..

Maybe Target would have them, they have community coffee.. In the "gourmet" coffee section.. My wife and I took a picture of that and sent it to people back in the south.. quit amusing..
