Aha, I guess I missed that.I don’t remember for certain, but I believe a scammer crawled the thread and brought it back to life before he posted. My time line could be off. I’m not 100% on that.
Nice "stash"!!Here are a few I dug out. Taste is subjective. I'm not a Woodford fan. For daily consumption I go to Colonel Taylor, Blantons, Weller or Chestnut Farms. I have one bottle of pre- buffalo trace Pappy 20 year left. Consumed two bottles of it and it was superb. Have one bottle left of 16 year AH Hirsch. If you have the opportunity, pounce. Everything else I've had pales in significance. PS... how the hell did that Canadian make it in the pic ?
If they did a blind taste test, I'm betting Pappy's wouldn't be anywhere near the top.BTW I am a Pricing Analyst by trade so there maybe a ton of reasons why the price is increasing. However one thought of lore comes to mind. pappy van winkle
What’s The Deal With Pappy Van Winkle?
What's interesting is that the Canadians call that a handle. As a lot of those folks are snow birds like we are, we started asking for that size vs half gallon or actually 1.75 liter in areas where snow birds congregate with no issue. I've always called it a half gallon as well, so I'm going to start using handle to see if any of our local stores at home know the difference. Our current favorite is Weller’s in the half gallon jug.
I don't often order straight shots but when I do I want one ice cube in the shot, no more. It tempers the bourbon's/whisky's that have a high alcohol content.I've only tried 25-30 different bourbons but the one bottle of Booker's I have is the best bourbon I've tried so far.
It is high proof so you've got to like the hot stuff especially if you drink it neat, which I do.
One good thing about high proof bourbon is that you can add a few drops of water to cool it down a bit, and it brings out some interesting flavors sometimes, but there isn't much you can do to improve a low proof bourbon that tastes watered down.
