By the time you factor in gasoline taxes, sales taxes and an assortment of fees. I think everyone in America is over the 25% rate as soon as they start spending money.

I know. I'm talking about the amount you see in your check getting deducted. I also don't have a problem with the lower income earners paying less, but I do have a huge problem with the EITC. You can't afford to pay 25% of your income to taxes, fine, but I'll be damned if you deserve 4500.00 because you popped out 5 kids with no way to support them.

Kinda like socialism.

The actual quote: From each according to his ability, to each according to his need (or needs) is a slogan popularised by Karl Marx in his 1875 Critique of the Gotha Program.

Some scholars trace the origin of the phrase to the New Testament.[7][8] In the parable of the Kingdom of Heaven, Jesus spoke of what we are given, according to our abilities; to test the commitment of the steward to his master. In Acts the Apostles' lifestyle is described as communal (without individual possession), and uses the phrase "distribution was made unto every man according as he had need":

Matthew 25:14-30: And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to each according to his ability. And he went abroad at once.
Acts 4:32: All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.

The difference here being, the early church was not practicing some early form of socialism where you take money from everyone and redistribute as needed. What they did, if there was a need in the church (say, someone fell sick and needs medicine or someone to tend their business), those who were able to help, did so, including providing money or material objects as needed. The early church recognized that all things belong to God, and should be used to His glory.

Communism and Socialism believe all things belong to "The People"/"The Government".

Thanks. This is why Marx was against religion. It interfered with his need for powah.

Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

Sounds like the programs are the same except for who's in charge. Redistribute you wealth to be a good Christian or a good citizen.

Jesus did NOT say to give all your wealth to Ceasar.... He knew better.

And He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into
the treasury.
And He saw a poor widow putting in two small copper coins.
And He said, "Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more
than all of them;
for they all out of their surplus put into the offering; but she
out of her poverty put in all that she had to live on."

I will disagree with the last when you get older. At least In my own case. I have the opportunity to increase my own salary by somewhere beteen 50 & 200%, depending on whether or not I want to and maximize my gross or stay where I am.
I'm staying.

thats my point, your choosing to spend time with your family vs bowing to the almighty dollar. When a person says they will cut theyre hours to get out of paying a higher tax rate vs keeping the same tax rate but working more hours, thats greed. Family really has nothing to do with the later.
