HB1558, which would exempt handgun licensees from the 10 YEAR FELONY for carrying concealed on public transit...
and HB2221, which would exempt a business from liability if they choose to allow lawful carry

These 2 bills have already passed the House, and been assigned to the Senate Public Safety Committee. Sen Barrington needs to allow these bills to be heard, and he's been a bit of a roadblock this session. These bills have to get past him if they are ever to get a vote on the floor of the Senate.

Please call him and ask for these 2 bills to be heard. Then email him. Then call him again next week. Be polite and professional.

Looks like several pro gun right bills are not being scheduled by Senator Barrington. Got this from OK2A today,

"We received word that Senator Barrington has decided to include HB1558 under "Other Business" on the Senate Public Safety Committee's agenda for tomorrow.

HB2221 (immunity from liability for businesses that allow carry), HB2020 (public money can't be used to promote gun control), and HB2021 (Firearms Freedom Act) are not on the agenda, and as far as we know, still are not included in the list of bills to hear under other business. So please keep calling him and urge him to hear these three bills as well.

The Senator's number is 405-521-5563 and his email address is [email protected]. "

I got this e-mail in response yesterday. not sure what it means.

Dear Friend:

Thank you for your emailing the office of Senator Don Barrington regarding 2nd Amendment legislation during the 2013 Legislative session.

The committee process for the Senate Public Safety & Homeland Security concluded with a final agenda meeting occurring this morning. By Oklahoma Senate rules, all committee work is over after today’s deadline, and any bills that were assigned to committees but were not heard by the Chairman are able to be heard the following legislative session.

We appreciate you contacting our office and being part of the legislative process. You may track specific bills through the LENS program by clicking the icon to the left. You may also track bills and watch the legislative session live at www.oksenate.gov.

Should you have specific questions or comments, please feel free to call our office at any time.

Respectfully,

Brother Jim

I got the same "Dear Friend" response. As always I was respectful and addressed the Honorable Senator Barrington as to why these needed to be put on the agenda. I got a "Dear Friend" response so I reply to my "Dear Friend" and ask for an explanation of why these bills were not put on the agenda.
I did not get a response.
I think it would be important to remember Senator Barrington come reelection time. He can say he is pro 2nd Amendment for those he moved on but I would still like to know WHY these were not. I cannot vote on Sen. Barrington but I would support some one that is truly pro 2nd Amendment that ran against him.
Just thinking out loud.
