Sometimes a plea bargin can be a good thing, sometimes it's a bad thing, but you should never put yourself in a position where you are forced into a plea bargin because you don't have the money to go to trial. In the American justice system you only have the defense that you can afford. If we look at the recent Chauvin trial Chauvin had one attorney doing all the work whereas the prosecution had multiple attorneys. While the defense will never be able to completely match the prosecution in terms of resources having more is almost always better than having less. It took almost 2 million dollars and a team of defense attorneys in the Zimmereman trial. Whether or not you see these plans as having a possible benefit is a question that only you can answer.
