A friend was telling me about a situation in Connecticut involving registering "Assault Type weapons. Hadnt heard anything about. Did a search engine and this came up ; mobile.dudamobile.com/site/the new American?URL=http/o/o. Thought it of interest to those that frequent the site.

We all say we know what WE would do but when there's a half dozen armed troopers at your door with the legal backing to gun you down if need be, how many people are actually going to say "it ends here, I will gun down these troopers before I let them take my guns!" and then actually do it, leaving their family fatherless? That citizen may get all the troopers right then but we all know what happens afterwards. That one step is a huge step and for that first person to take it is going to be far harder than most of us think. Most folks are honest and it isn't in their nature to actually pull a trigger and shoot a fellow citizen, I'm not saying they aren't justified by their 2A rights, I'm just saying it'll far, far, far more difficult that people think it will be.

That said, it will likely be a domino effect in one direction or the other. That first person or two that resist and pay the price will either create a huge movement to continue resisting or to give in. So think about it, really put yourself in the footsteps of someone in Connecticut, a father with a family, who's doorbell rings and it's time to actually draw arms on law enforcement or begrudgingly surrender your arms. What would you do?

I always wonder about the ones sent to enforce "the law"? Where do they stand? The second amendment was never repealed, just buried under unconstitutional laws. It's still there, just ignored.

They obediently follow orders for a paycheck you provide each time you get paid. Our society is morally corrupt in that it functions on the premise of redistribution of wealth. "Thou shall not steal" seems to have zero following by each and every gov't employee, no matter what their job may be. They attempt in feable ways to justify being an accessory to theft. And many on this forum lavishly heap praise on these emplyees who willingly chose to be a part of the problem by seeking employment with gov't. Speak ill of a selct, favored group and be bannished. Saying nothing of course only promulgates the concept that these "public servants" are wonderfully moral neighbors. Sycophants...

In the heavily populated NE areas, LE is not as pro-2nd Amendment as they are in the flyover states. We saw some backlash in upstate New York over Cuomo's gun grab, but not enough to make an overall impact. You're not going to see mass refusal to enforce these laws in CT like you did from the Colorado Sheriff's. If necessary, they'll simply hand select the officers tasked to do the dirty deed. :(
