I got drawn Great plains Oct. 14-17 archery either sex. Any tips on terrain or bow tips for how to get the big one?

I got Lexington on the 17th either sex...got drawn for same last year. Didnt see a thing hope better this year. Now have to decide what gun to take. My standby Remington 742 06 my Granddad gave me and got his Witchita WMA Elk with, a new Remington Model 700 270 Safari Grade I bought this last year orrrr I have a number to a guy that has a Remington Model 81 in 300 Savage I really want. Maybe the hunt is a good excuse to get the 300 Savage?
