Combine wheat $17.00 per 100lb bulk, $10.50 per 50lb bag. 50lb Shawnee mills 18% layer pellets $14.50.
I've been feeding critters long enough that I remember $4-6 dollar bags of feed and $10-12 dollar round bales.
If my pay had climbed with this It'd be no biggie but the wage has not kept up.
Seems like a premium for combine wheat. I would find another farmer to buy from next May/June.

Yeah, I know this is over a year old but I'm looking at corn prices now and it's just insane. Feed store by our property last year had 50 lbs of corn for $9 then at end of season was up to $10. Just called and it's $12.25/50 lbs. Called another place for bulk and it's $372/ton(2 years ago this same place charged $180/ton so over 100% increase in 2 years). Got one final call into a guy that last year would fill up your 55 gallon barrels for $12/100 lbs and it takes right at 350 lbs to fill. Have a filling that price will be much, much higher also.

Feed store has some 14% all stock left for $8.50/50 lbs but it's going up to $9.50/50 lbs once the new supply comes in. May try to grab 20 bags and put in the container for this fall. Not saving much but likely only going higher.

These prices might make some folks learn how to really hunt. Planting food plots and hunting trails/travel corridors may become popular again.

When inflation took off back in the 70s, old folks said "Sugar is so high, a bootlegger would go broke these days!"
At the prices y'all are seeing for corn now...furgit it! :yikes2:

And - In before somebody posts "Bootleggers raised their own corn...and muh great grand pappy's REAL 'shine didn't need no sugar...blah blah blah.":talk2hand:

That’s a pretty good price for 14% all stock compared to what I’m seeing around here. I bought some last week for around $11.80/50 lbs.
