Never, ever wear gloves around any rotating equipment. this is the classic example why.
22 yrs in the machine tool business, has tought me this. Your really lucky.

Add loose clothing, jewelry, watches, etc to this and I agree.

wearing kevlar gloves around chainsaws is another step in protecting what's high on the list of what gets hurt around chainsaws. (see chart posted in my post above)

specifically your left hand, if right hand is on trigger.
trigger hand almost never gets hurt around chainsaws.

Stihl's chainsaw protective gloves (more like a mitt) has protection only on left hand.

in Tulsa..... seldom have I seen professional tree workers use hard hats, much less chainsaw chaps.
I've never seen another person in Tulsa actually wear a chainsaw protective shirt and rarely chaps.
