I’ve never owned a Remington that I liked, or that cycled well. Albeit most have been newer models. As for buying another gun, that would make sense, but I’ve always wanted a short SxS, as im fond of any “Old West” style gums (or anything else), and since I had a gentleman kind enough to help me out reply on here, I’ll take it as meant to be. I’m hardly a bird hunter anyway, so it will only get more use after it’s easier to stow in the truck while checking cows.

That’s a deal! If I do it, has your experience been that the open bore neuters the ability of the gun?

I have a cylinder bore Rem 1100 with a 19 1/8” barrel I like to call my Covey gun. Great for upland hunting.
Haven’t shot it much lately as my bird dog expired an my current lifestyle doesn’t support another to replace it.
When I did shoot it a lot, I was reloading for shotshells.
1 1/4 oz if number 7 1/2 was deadly on dove and quail at longer ranges because there was more shot in the pattern.
