Rangers are great, but they sure are expensive. I’m the third owner of mine, and if something happens to it, I don’t know what I’ll do. I can’t see myself ever buying one brand new at today’s prices.

Yeah I don't buy hardly anything new, definitely would be a used purchase. Then I'd have to buy a smaller trailer I suppose too.

I sat for 9 hours in 3 stands today. Saw 2 does which winded me at 100 yards thanks to the front which wouldn't finish pushing in. 10 minutes into my drive home, the temps dropped over 10 degrees.

I'd stick with the 4 wheeler. I know it's sand, but I see the UTV's constantly needing pulled out at little sahara. (high centered)
Niece and Nephew sold their Ranger because they kept getting high centered on rutted roads and stuck in the Lahoma area. (4 seater). It did have a pretty low profile.
I've only been in two, and had no issues on rocky ground, so my comments are just observations.

My parents were here last eve or I would have gone out. My son sat with his GF last night. It was her first time to sit in a stand. He said movement was phenomenal. They saw all of our shooter bucks in a an hour. He took a shot at an 8 with the tall right brow tine. Got down to check but only got hair. Another buck came in and busted him climbing back up the ladder. I hope those two deer continue to stick around.

My brother has a 4 seater, and I’d never buy one for a hunting rig. It’s like driving a limo as daily driver car.
We’ve been using a Ranger up there since 2009 (after insurance paid for the 4 wheeler I sunk in the Salt Fork...) and have never had a problem with getting stuck, but in my opinion, after using both 4 wheelers and Rangers, I believe a 4 wheeler is a better for the purpose of getting into and out of muddy places (neither is amphibious though...). Rangers are pretty heavy.
It’s also a heck of a lot easier to get a deer in a Ranger than on a 4 wheeler though, and if you have to ferry corn into a place, Rangers will haul a lot more.
