I took my 4 year old out this evening. Surprisingly, he sat about 30 minutes. We saw a doe with a yearling and a small buck. It helped that the buck was in view most of that time.

The stand we were in is a terrible bow stand but he wanted to go and it’ll comfortably seat two. So away we went.

I rolled in a couple hours ago with another feeder and ANOTHER ton of dairy pellets. There are a bunch of deer that pass through the 15 acres around the house, so I brought the feeder to put out here and got it done this evening. I guess I’m going to hunt somewhere in the morning, but I’m not too excited due to the temperatures and no bucks worth a tag on camera right now. I’ll get my protein feeders filled (probably for the last time this year) and check my non cellular cameras in the morning, and just maybe I will have a good buck coming in to one of those spots.

I originally said I wasn’t going to shoot a doe again this year, but as much as I’ve spent on dairy pellets, “somebody” is going to have to pay at least part of the feed bill. First big fat nanny with no fawn is more than likely going to get a bolt run through her....

Hey, it's only fair. You feed them a while, then they feed you...

Set that feeder at the house so you can sit on the crapper and take the shot........A long story behind that comment.....

Shot this guy opening evening. He’s a typical 6x6 with a split g2. He wasn’t mature but small property and meat hunters for neighbors on 2 sides. Made a bad shot and hit brisket. Does spooked when I drew back and he turned backwards at the same time I hit the release. Searched a day and a half and I’m positive he will make it. He would’ve been my biggest to date. Hopefully he returns back to my place but doubtful. Feel horrible but I’m gonna do everything I can to take him this year if he returns.
