Taking the family to Disney World for spring break. Any "secrets" that can help make it a bit smoother/more fun? Have 4 kids 18-11 so all are old enough to do most activities.

Thanks.

Disney World during Spring Break? You're a brave man! If you're staying at a Disney property, take advantage of the early days. Stay for the fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom. It's worth it. Take in the shows. They're a great way to take a little break and get entertained. Plan ahead. Get a map and plan a route. Pick the rides you really want to ride, like Space Mountain, and do them first. If you miss a ride, it's not the end of the world. There's just no way to take it all in on one visit, even for a few days. Relax and remember, you're on vacation, it's suppose to be fun!

Thanks Ace, we will be there for 4 days. Staying on the property, we will take the plan it out advice to heart. Haven't heard of the early days, will have to check them out. Thanks again.

Use the Fast Pass system for the rides you really want to hit. Take a lot of patience because it will be crowded. Certain parks are open earlier on certain days - plan accordingly

Generally, every day of the week, one of the parks will open an hour or two early only for guest staying on property. Used to be really noce, but now a day, it seems like everyone is staying on property. Your kids may be a little old for this, but there is whole cottage industry over hidden Mickey's. They are all over the parks. It's fun to try and find them. The imagineers are pretty cleaver. At least one hidden Mickey is a shadow that's only observable during a certain time of day. My daughter and her friend got very caught up in finding hidden Mickey's.

It seems everyone wants to take in Disney Springs (used to be called Downtown Disney). Unless there is something there you really want to see, I say skip it, or don't schedule a lot of time there. It's, to me, all that is bad about Disney (the crowds, the commercialism) and none of the magic that makes the parks so great.

Thanks bulbboy, patience is not my strong point, but I will certainly try to relax and enjoy. Fast Pass sounds like the thing to do, I passed off this advice and my wife is looking it up, thank you.

Yes, FastPass, use it. Or, and this is a bit of a gray area morally, and I'm not recommending it, but...if a member of your party is in a wheelchair (you can rent at the park) you can skip a lot of lines. It's not as bad (good?) as it was a few years ago. My BIL has to use a wheelchair and I was almost embarrassed that the lines we got to skip. Just saying...

Thanks Ace, we are going for the best experiences of course, will certainly stay as far away from as much commercialism as possible. My youngest girl is all about finding as many Mickeys as possible. Should be a blast for her and to watch her look..
