I love anything aviation, I grew up a normal poor kid, had what I needed, not a lot more. We lived very close to the north ind of the runway at Tulsa International. Guess planes and aviation got into my bloodstream. 60 years later, lots of hard work and lots of luck being in the right place at the right time I have been very fortunate in life. I own a Zenith 801 STOL and a Piper Cherokee 235. Unfortunately my age is getting up there, and I am realizing my flying days are limited. I will fly as long as I am safe, but I know I will have to hang it up some day. I never walk outside without looking up, you never know what you might miss.
Cherokee 235 is very nice airplane. I grew up in General Aviation and flew in and some stick time with planes like Cessna 140 -Cessna 150- Cessna 177 Cardinal - Cessna 337 Skymaster - Piper Tri-Pacer - Piper Comanche 180 - Piper Cherokee 140 - Piper Cherokee Six 300 [ load hauling airplane] and worked with and around such planes as the Piper PA-25 235 Pawnee - Piper Navajo- Navion [Riley Twin Conversion] and a 1964 Piper Comanche 400 [Lycoming IO 720 8 CYL] [owned by a local Road Construction Company]
This was in SW Tennessee at County Airport.
Aviation is still in my blood 50 years later and I still enjoy a good airshow. OKC- Will Rogers and Sundance use to have some very good airshows.Last good Airshow that I saw in the region was at Joplin MO and Sundance Yukon about 4 years ago. .
