Keep in mind I removed the lubricant before taking the pic. This should be smooth as a baby's butt but it has a lot of chattering damage concentrated mostly near the forward and rear of the pin. I'm sure it will still fire just fine but still... Should not look like that after 60 rounds.

As far as I know the issue is fixed but I will let you know when I get it out to fire it again and post the results here.

Mine looks the exact same, concentrated in the same areas. I never noticed it before today.

Well as long as it keeps throwing rounds down range with the accuracy I have had I'm not going to loose any sleep over it. You can always go my route and turn it in and maybe get a new style bolt like I did.

I dont have a SASS but I have an early Gen2 version. Serial number is under 200 and has a 16 inch barrel. With FM Argentina ammo I had no problems.

Just couldnt bring myself to do the dump dirt into the mag test as ASP785 did LOL.

Well I got out to the range today with the "New Bolt Style SASS and new firing pin" I immediately checked the first brass ejected. It was almost perfect with no marring. Out of 80 rounds fired today only a couple had gouges or distortion of the casings hind end. Once I got the rounds on paper (took a while, I think my kids got ahould of my scope in the interim) I was 1 MOA at 200 on a very very hot and humid day with no wind. The MOA opened up later because fat boy here was starting to feel the heat and I bet the weapon was too. The firing pin was also blessedly with out noticeable damage when I cleaned it. So whatever the "new bolt style" fix was, it did the job. Has anyone noticed there is not one single DPMS G2 SASS video review anywhere? Also, G2 SASS's are sold out and have been for a while. Why is there no replacement stock showing up? Hmmmmm
