So they should be old enough to understand that regardless of what their parents did, they are here illegally. They need to wait their turn just like everyone else. It is a total disgrace to anyone who has come here legally.
Just because America is (was?) great, doesn't mean every Tom Dick and Harry has the "right" to come here even if it is a better place than where they are. We are a sovereign nation and the federal government should exercise that power to control our damn borders. We are already overpopulated with a true unemployment of 16+%. Kicking all these illegals out combined with entitlement reform would be one of the best things to happen to this country.
Y'know what'd be even better? Keeping the illegals--who generally want to work hard--and expelling the third-generation welfare bums. But they were born on the right side of the line, so they have a right to sponge off of the rest of us.
C'mon, we're talking about kids here. They didn't come on their own; they were dragged by their parents. They didn't have a (reasonable) chance to refuse--what would they say, "no, dad, you go on ahead, I'll be fine on my own. I'm thirteen, I can take care of myself!" There's no actus reus here.
Besides which, the requirement that they earn a college degree or serve in the military screens for the motivated and hardworking, just the sort of people we'll need if we're going to continue supporting our native-born leeches.

This. It is sad that the idea of being an American is slowly shifting away from being a hard working, participative citizen and shifting toward the idea that it's someone who was simply fortunate enough to be born here. Self governance takes hard work if it is going to endure, and I'd much rather see citizenship granted to those people who are willing to roll up their sleeves or put their life on the line for our nation than to those ignorant wretches that sponge off of the system.
