We've got Cox cable (highest available service in my area) at our house. We can have two different sets streaming HULU or Netflix, while a third one is playing Black Ops online. When we had ATT Uverse (highest available service in my area) I couldn't even watch a youtube video without the feed stalling.

DSL is greatly misunderstood. It degrades the further away from the wire center that you are. Call tech support and ask them how far away you are. If you are further than 12,000 feet, they never should have sold it to you. If you are close, it can be great. We are 800 feet from the wire center and cable cannot touch our speeds. Anything under 8,000 feet and you can get great speeds. 8-12,000 it can be good, but won't be great. You can ask the distance before you order it!
