Oh and just out of curiosity what did those centurion fat boy safes bring ?
where you sitting on the west side for most of it ? And then towards the end you moved to stand on the east side of the quansat ?
The serial# on the garand was 4601121
Apparently I also handled a very rare winchester, still new in box. I did not know that a model 12 in 410 was thought to be a myth
This gun was new in box, the label was on the box but I didn't know of such controversy until I googled it when it went for $3400There may or may not have been four built at the factory. It is the center of a smouldering firestorm of controversy in the shotgun collector community (yeah, I know firestorms don't smoulder, but this controversy does . . . ). No records are available, and all interviewed Winchester former employees say it never happened.
If I had to bet I would bet on super clever gunsmithing by someone, but arms companies often experiment with "one off" versions. My reason for doubt is that the 42 was a big success and I can't see a viable market for a 12 in .410. I doubt that Winchester could either.
I have always wanted a Model 42, but have never been able to justify the cost.
