Not going to chide anyone over a simple disagreement of opinions. If everyone had the same thoughts what fun would these discussions really be? How could we learn anything new?

these cases are becoming popular...and its confusing for the law to order anything...but its right that getting into someones house is illegal..when the person shot may be he didnt shoot intentionally to kill..we cant call him a murderer..but yes if somebody is doing a theft then he shouldnt be killed directly..but at these time of mess people do die and ones who are left should be forced to spend whole of their life in jail...just few week or months and ultimatum is enough...they didnt go to steal..they have the right to live a normal life...

Woah man have you ever heard of "run on". You lost me 3/4rths of the way through the first time I read it. I wasnt quite prepared for the madness but I got it the 2nd time around. Have you had your morning coffee by chance?

when more than one person has broken in to your home you must kill the first one---just to prevent having to deal with 2 at a time--how could he know there were only 2 ??? "however" the execution of the second one is over the top...another 2c

I think we'll find out the kids didn't break in that day. The entire story sounds sketchy. Home owner is in the basement when he hears a window break upstairs(seems a long distance and through several barriers), fires on both kids individually as they come down the stairs(after hearing the first shot, she still continues to the basement...not likely), dragging the boy aside(understandable), dragging the girl over(understandable...unknown # of intruders), waiting a period of time to make sure it's safe to come out(understandable...not for an entire day), calling for an attorney before the authorities(shady). I think this was a planned homicide from him believing that these 2 kids were the ones burglarizing his home. Everything seems to rehearsed for me. This guy seems twisted and was looking for an excuse to kill someone. The only thing he didn't account for was his own bravado getting out of control and out of the plan. Sad as it is, it will make a good movie someday. a

P.S. On second thought, it could be just as it seems...2 criminals burglarizing the wrong houseof a crazy bastard waiting to kill someone.

I'm surprised nobody else thought this story was complete BS, she runs into gunshots?

Just don't break into anyone's house and you'll be just fine.

You (and some others in this thread) fail to understand that it doesn't have anything to do with whether the burglar deserved to die or not, it's what it says about your humanity (or lack thereof) to condone the manner in which it happened in this case. :(

I think he was in the wrong for the manner in which he killed them in that this incident goes BEYOND the realm of self defense. That being said, I think this story is an aberration just like Jerome Ersland. We hear on the local news a little blurb about the proper use of force in a defensive shooting, but those stories stay local and die down immediately. It's always the RARE misuse of force that makes it nationwide.

I wonder how many people you can chide for that :pms2:

Sour cream and chides! :D
