He already neutralized the threat. The "finishing shot" to the head was murder. This is way more cut and dry that Erslands case and he got life for murder 1.

I agree. These are not the acts of a man defending himself. This is cold blooded murder.

For those of you who haven't read the details of this and the man's own words, I encourage you to do so before you make a statement.

I have read the account and if everything in it is true, then this man deserves to be punished to the full extent of the law. While it may be true that the two teens broke in, it doesn't give this man license to kill them in cold blood after he has already neutralized them and they are no threat to him. He crossed the line from defending himself into being an aggressor. Perhaps he could attempt to make the argument that he was under duress, but from his statements, he admits that he clearly knew what he was doing.

if the man's statements are true ... it's cold blooded murder. he had every right to defend himself. but after they were down, to deliver a finishing shot at point blank. there can be no possible justification for that.
