The FN-49 I have is an Egyptian contract gun chambered in 8x57 Mauser. The gas system needs some adjustment, so maybe I can get one of the younger guys to volunteer to put a few rounds down range with it.I'll bring my "boer" mauser. 7x57.....a battle rifle with no kick.

Shouldn't be that bad. The procedure is to load and fire one round at a time, checking the rifle for function with each round. If the bolt locks back consistently, we're good. If the bolt doesn't lock back as it should, we dial in a little more gas pressure. Repeat until the rifle cycles consistently, with brisk but not violent ejection. Hopefully we can then run a full mag (10 rds) thru the gun.
