I really need to find a good Remington 1100 to replace the one my grandfather gave me. I screwed up and let that one get away from me when I was a young man.

The Colt 1911 my father carried in WWII on Guadalcanal, Bougainville and the Philippines. My grandfather bought it for him ($35.00) before he went overseas.

Here is mine. But I have the synthetic stock because H&H did not have wood that day I purchased.
I've checked into buying the wood but Browning states it must be installed by a qualified gunsmith.
Seems silly.
Tried to get the attn. of someone at H&H gunsmith desk to verify but they were too busy for me.
Had their noses in I-phones.

I'll let you know tomorrow. I've had a VP9 for a couple of years and have never shot it due to living in California for around 10 years. VP9's were not on the roster and didn't feel like dealing with any questions the CA DOJ might have. (who have been known to ask questions at ranges). I like the way it feels, but how I shoot it will determine if it becomes my EDC. I'm taking her on her maiden voyage tomorrow. Right now, I've been mainly carrying a Sig P229 and occasionally a GI spec 1911, Either a Remington in .45 or a RIA in 38 Super.
