Finally! I found a Nylon 66 at a good price. Little bit of a beater, but it will work. Now maybe I can burn up all the 22 I have. First 22 rifle I have ever owned longer than 15 minutes.

We had a guy trade one in. Like I said, beater. I had shot a friend's years ago and was amazed at the accuracy. Will post pics later. We have one on the shelf that is cherry. Consignment at collector price. I may hold on to this 22 longer than the last one!!

Mohawk brown. Rear tube. Wasn't logged yet. Sooo wanted to take it to the gun club tomorrow. Found out oil is not good for them. Makes sense, though.

I bought my Mohawk brown Nylon 66 in 1976 and after untold rounds have been through it it still looks and shoots as good as the day I bought it. After I'm gone I hope someone gets it that will appreciate it. With reasonable care I think it should last on another 50 years or more.

Our gunsmith told me the story about their engineer (Rice?) and how they took 6 or so guns out to the desert and shot 112,000 rounds in just a few days. Guns still worked, but Rice couldn't shoot for 6 weeks after that!

Only problems I've heard with them was I saw one a guy used carb cleaner on to clean. Pretty sure he ruined that one. Never fed right after that I think. Then my best friend from highschool broke bolt handle off twice. Maybe once on two rifles his dad hadone too. Real good shooters. I want one but in the black and chrome.
