"I put the magazine in my gun. I cocked it,” the woman said in an interview Thursday night. “I said, ‘You need to leave or Ill shoot you. I’m going to blow your brains out.’ ”

.....she has never before brought her gun, a Ruger .380, with her to the lake,....

First, isn't the only .380 that Ruger makes the LCP? Mine is double action only and can't be 'cocked'.

Second, this woman sure talks tuff for someone who doesn't carry a loaded handgun and has to load her gun while sitting next to the perv... hoping all the while that he doesn't take it away from her and beat the tar out of her with it. She must not be very familiar with her Ruger. A magazine loaded LCP would be very difficult for a 6 yr old to rack a round into if he got his hands onto it .... as the slide spring is pretty stiff. And if she keeps it secure on her person or in her purse while walking... then there should be no chance of the gun posing any danger to her kid.

May be he had a double handful and couldn't drop every thing to try for her gun.

It doesn't sound like she was reasonably in fear of death or serious bodily injury to me.

Bingo! No way she should have pointed a gun at him. She even had time to load it and make ready. She wasn't acting as though she was under threat of death or great bodily harm. Something tells me she's going to be waving her gun around unnecessarily at someone else in the future who annoys her. Hope she doesn't accedentally shoot someone for taking her parking spot.

I'm pretty sure it was Cheech and Chong. That wouldn't have been allowed on TV when that record first came out.

Related peak moment: One of my classrooms had a phone in it. It rang while I was teaching, and I answered it. Someone said "Dave?" and I of course said "Dave's not here," hung up, and unplugged the phone as I should have done before class started. About half of the all adult class went into hysterics, and the other (younger) group just looked puzzled.

Mocking and knit pickery makes a person look bad.

It's pretty obvious that the lady needs some training. Hopefully she will be informed of that. Inserting magazine and cocking a hammer . . . . but I'm preaching to the already converted here.

As to the legality of pulling a gun on a weiner wagger, that would be a call likely influenced by local law and various unknowable political factors. She could be cited for bravery, or get a citation for brandishing, or actual assault with a deadly weapon, or who knows what.

I wouldn't want to be the prosecutor who went after her, particularly in an election year.

... someone else in the future who annoys her. ...

I dunno, maybe it's a male/female kinda thing but if some guy is whanking off in front of me and my kid(s) on a public sidewalk, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say I'd be a little more than annoyed. Concerned, at the very least, comes to mind. However, I'll freely admit that I'm kinda funny about such things -- keep it in your pants, fellas, until you are invited to make yourselves a little more comfortable. It saves us ALL from a lot of trouble ... lol

I will also freely admit the following: 1. My gun would have already been loaded and 2. I would have probably just kicked the SOB outta way and told him to find a gutter to roll in before I would have drawn my gun on him. BUT that's just me ... :P

Bwahahahahahaha!! (Yeah, I'm a little over 27 ... :wink2:)
