Fort Lauderdale or Miami Beach in Feb?

I have flown into Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Never really spent much time in either area to know which would be a better getaway with my wife. Anyone with knowledge of those two areas care to give me their opinion? I was originally looking at Key Largo but after we get back into Port we only have 2 days to spend before we fly back home.

I went to FLL 2 years ago on Valentine's Day. It was nice. Went offshore fishing. Temps were mild, 70s. Very nice. We just kinda hung around town for 2 days, really went for a concert (Andrea Bocelli and Heather Headley), so I dunno. It was just nice to get away. And cheaper staying there than down in Miami.

I spent some time in Ft. Lauderdale a few years back as well. Great good food and even better scenery. If you're in to fishing, look up "Happy Day Today". They're a great fishing charter. Caught a world class amberjack and had multiple sail fish hookups.

If I remember correctly, the Winter Music Conference is during that time. If that's the case, I'd steer clear of Miami and especially South Beach unless you're a big fan of electronic music and ecstacy tablets.

Skip the Keys if you want beaches...because they don't really have them. Great for snorkeling or fishing though.
