Had a Nikon scope on my Ruger Super RedHawk 30 or so years ago. Didn’t like the magnification so it went away.
As the eyesight ages, the red dots are on many of the firearms from pistols to lever guns, and I dare anyone to call me a fudd.
Once learning to acquire the dot with training and years of competition, I’m saying a dot is easier to present than irons.
You will never see iron shooters outperform dot shooters in the national and world championship speed shooting competitions.
I’m not talking about Jerry Michalik either although he did use a dot at a match when we were on the same squad.
