My preferred method of growing cantaloupe and cucumber. A 16’ cattle panel bent and anchored in an arch. If you put plenty of hay etc underneath the ripe cantaloupe drop to the ground without damage or you can do as I and make little ‘Bras’ out of garden netting. Solves the problem of insects destroying the fruit on the ground as well as not easily finding them in the weeds/vines
Do you have fire ants, because fire ants down here loves mulch to build their nests under.

We are putting 6 of these in later this fall. We moved our big tubs to an area that gets full Sun and have room to put six of these with them.

Bermuda grass takes over any raised beds here. Weed barrier just slows it down a little.

We have had good luck on killing what grass there is and a couple layers of good weed stop. And on the outside around them there will be a few inches of gravel.

I may even sit these on some old sheet metal I took off a barn I tore down.
