was not bashing at all ... just amazed at $125 per day to run costs .. some folks due to medical issues have to have AC all the time and/or need certain equipment running, etc.

notice I'm running 1 full size refrigerator and 3 freezers loaded with food .. all at the same time with one EU2000i. I've got a second EU2000 that can run in parallel, but have not needed to... then I've got a 5500 watt construction genset with 11hp honda that never gets used anymore.

last bad ice storm, power was out for 2 1/2 weeks ... gas station were down too, hard to find gas for awhile... learned you run the smallest possible genset and still function. fuel can get hard to find during extended power outages... there are times where costs is not the issue, but finding fuel is...
I apologize that I took you wrong. These big generators could be shut down some during long durations saving fuel. The nice thing about the large propane tank is it could be filled to 50% one month and then top off in a couple months so all fuel cost isn't at once. Propane doesn't go bad while in storage. He has one motor to perform a oil and filter change once a year. The fuel tank won't require refueling once or twice a day, possibly while gone to work. Small generators are easily stolen if you aren't around.

no problems .. look at what happened during Katrina, after last bad winter storm on east coast, etc. folks were standing in line hoping to get fuel ...

of all the fuel sources local propane tanks are the most secure and never go bad. it'd take an earth quake to disrupt natural gas Distribution Compressor Stations, buried lines, etc.

EU2000i in use are located next to kitchen outside door in backyard. so don't have to worry about genset disappearing. a short run of beefy cable is used to get power inside. then gets distributed as needed inside. makes a mess with electric cables running all over. but it's safe for Linemen with all hot wiring isolated from house wiring.

since my house has three phase. it'd need a three pole, double throw switch to make it safe. my AC uses a 3 phase semi-hermetic compressor and a small water tower .. it'd take a big honking commercial 3 phase genset to support, that I'm not willing to spend $$$ to install and support. just to gain main AC. got a portable Air conditioner that EU2000 will support. cools one room if it really gets bad.

got an 8hp diesel motor driving an alternator into a battery bank. which drives a 3,000 watt sine wave inverter and 1,500 watt rotary sine wave generator. in the process of installing a higher output alternator and possibly solar panels to support battery banks.
