Yes, as a matter of fact I have had a couple bad encounters with the po-po. The most memorable is of a Sgt and his minions threatening my wife and accusing her of wrongdoing. Later when I addressed this, the same tactic was tried on me. (neither my wife or myself was impressed by the bullying tactics)

That being said, several of my very good friends are cops. I would wish them no ill, but would strip QI from them in a heartbeat. They're just men, not any higher or lower than the rest of us. (and I have a feeling they act in a more honorable fashion than a lot of cops)

So, you were on budgets awhile ago...you get tired of using logic on that one?

Sorry that you had your feelings hurt.

No. They are (still) related. If you can't do the math to see how, let me know.

Funny how "conservatives" love personal responsibility until it hits too close to home, ain't it?

Just playing devil's advocate here, but depraved indifference would still be in play. Once you detain someone under color of law, you're responsible for their safety. Floyd was obviously in medical distress. Had the pressure applied been removed and naloxone administered to Floyd, he probably would've lived to stand trial.

A big difference is that most of those "top ten" have more/less the same danger factor wherever the job is located, so their average is high.

LEOs across the US may indeed have a lower nationwide average than some jobs, but there's an enormous difference between the danger of being a LEO in small rural towns like Kingston, OK (for example) and huge crime-infested cities like Chicago, IL.

Saying (or implying) that a LEO's job is never dangerous is just as inaccurate as saying they all dodge bullets everyday.

You do realize how asinine it is to compare being a cop with other dangerous jobs right? Its the same thing with being in the armed forces. No other job do people actively shoot at you to the point where you wear bullet proof/armored vests. Those other dangerous jobs are dangerous for a completely different reason. Not only that, but I've never heard of the ground suing a logger because a tree fell on it when cut down. Nor have I ever heard of a tree shooting at the logger for doing their job. How many videos are on YT of a cop walking up to a car on a simple traffic stop and getting shot? Look what happened here in Tulsa. One cop dead, another severely wounded (and still recovering) after both were shot in the head. What other job, besides the armed forces, has that kind of risk? The top 10 most deadliest jobs are usually the result of human error, not attempted murder.

You win, MODS please lock. How many ATC's or anesthesiologists have been shot at because they wanted to commit suicide by ATC or anesthesiologist? I have. How likely are you to pull a suicidal subject off the roof of a parking garage like two of my guys did last week? How many car crashes do you get to work where a drunk kid killed himself? You get to clean their brains up off the pavement and then go knock on the kids parents door and give them all sorts of good news. I can keep going if needed.

Yes, lumberjacks and crab fishermen are a more dangerous job per capita, but cops get MURDERED doing their job.

LOL! You clearly don't know WTF you are talking about. Suggestion? Why don't you try doing some honest research on what exactly qualified immunity is, how/why it is used and how it came to be?

Don't try to reason.... it's pointless. He'll just keeping using strawman arguments until it degrades into someone backhanded remark hinting that you're a bootlicker. Rinse.... repeat..... like a scorned ex wife.
