Funny story, well not really, but since you mentioned safety.....As my wife and I were leaving which was around 11:00, we had just exited and I heard the familiar sound of slide being racked. I turned around immediately and there was a guy with a glock out in the open stuffing it in his front right pocket. He was only wearing sweat pants shorts. I grabbed the wife and stopped allowing him to pass. As he passed I said "real safe buddy" and he just shrugged and keep walking. Now I have no idea if he put one in the pipe but I made dam sure he was in front of me.

What was the unsafe act?

Thought about going, but after reading here that the admission was higher than advertised, and the table count was much lower than advertised, I passed. Diener's shows used to be my favorites. They were the right size with decent selection without killing yourself walking it.

The show situation in Tulsa has become pretty poor IMO. Wananmacher has crammed way too much in making it nearly impossible to shop for anything. RK is too small to be worth the $12, Diener's shows have fallen off, and my opinion of Metcalf runs about the same as many here. Kind of a shame.

I went to Deiner and asked about the $12.00 price that is on his website and then getting charged $14.00 at the door, His reply was that they had been trying to change it on their website for some time without success and IF anyone asked that they would honor the $12.00 price? I am calling BS on that one.
I also asked about why there was very little advertising and he said he was talking to consultants about that ?? WTF!!!
I have had an entire island for the last 8-9 shows and after he went up to $15.00 I told him I would not set up again, He called me about a month ago and said he would give me the entire island for the same price as always if I would come, When I went to pay him after the show he jacked it up $90.00 on me. I paid and left ticked off after asking him about it and just letting it go( had other stuff on my mind today) and not arguing, He told another vendor that takes one of the tables from me that he figured I wouldn't be coming back and she should find her own table with someone else, He did finally get one thing right!! I heard the same story from other vendors about unexpected price hikes. It is a shame that greed ruins so much in this world!

Oh yea, I took a real close look at the number of tables and figured there was about 1000 tables and NOT 2200.

+1
I asked the girl working the ticket window about the advertised $12 price. She said the fairgrounds is charging the extra $2 which makes it $14.
So I did ask and was still charged $14. Yep, I'm calling BS.
But on the other hand, I did enjoy the show even though I didn't buy anything. As others have posted, the grand national/american show has been my favorite but is losing that status with me. Vendor attendance seemed down plus it's musical chairs with the admission price, so I dunno on the next one.

The fairgrounds did add a surcharge of $1.00 not $2.00 Someone posted a link to the Expo centers contract after the last show which I read and it did say that any ticketed event that sells 250 or more tickets would be charged a $1.00 per ticket surcharge, Deiner is a greedy lying Ba%@&%.

Dennis Diener USED to put on a great show, one of my favorites. They have been sliding downhill fast over the past 3-4 years and now they are just crap. I didn't set up or even go to the show this weekend - this is the first one that I've missed in a very long time. I won't support it anymore. Diener may be a nicer person than Metcalf, but his shows are a complete suckfest.

While I'm on a roll, here's a few thoughts on Wanenmacher show as well. I love it! I see people whine about shows that get no turn out, but Wanenmachers gets slammed because there are too MANY people there. Really? I can't quite wrap my arms around that one, too many people? I don't mind fighting a crowd, we should be happy that at least there is one at an okie show.
