All of us in the northeast are familiar with GRDA Lake Patrol, but recently I've seen "GRDA Police" cars making traffic stops on county roads. Anyone familiar with them and what their jurisdiction is? Just curious.
They are the damn authority.
Last time I saw one, he also had a DHS patch on his shirt. So, ima thinking they have no boundaries.
I figured it out. My town employs a GRDA officer as a part timer and he probably just uses his GRDA crusier when he's working for the city. I've met the head of their DHS division, he came to our house when my child went missing and was amazing with my wife when she was losing it. That's a pretty interesting story I should probably tell you all about sometime.
I belive they were given the same authority as OHP a couple years ago.
This seems incredibly wrong to me.
Or maybe they're more like the Insurance Commission fraud posse...states are copying the tactics of the fedgov with the proliferation of LEOs to take care of their small slice of the law.
