I suspect they worked harder at getting it then anyone else.

This seems like the reason for this location:

In addition to the New York plant, Remington also has plants in Lonoke, Ark. (a five-hour drive from Nashville), and in Mayfield, Ky. (a two-hour drive from Nashville). It also has a technical and research center in Elizabethtown, Ky., which is also about two hours from Nashville. The company also has distribution operations in Memphis managed by a third-party company.

Does Oklahoma have business unfriendly tax codes? Why aren't they coming here? Texas seems to be getting a few.

Oklahoma has some of the most "unfriendly" laws in the United States toward manufacturers. These laws were largely overlooked in tort reform. For instance, Oklahoma's laws do not reduce damages for the plaintiff's own negligence in using a product. Some judges are notorious for "home-towning" corporations. Plaintiff lawyers come from all over the nation to try to find jurisdiction in Cleveland County (in particular). You have to wonder why Cleveland County.
