Had some bear meat last night

Pretty good stuff. Our HS principal killed one this year, had it ground into hamburger. He brought some to a board appreciation dinner prior to our regular meeting. I could not tell it from beef.

Kinda makes me want to take up bear hunting now.

His was a cinnamon bear, gonna make a beautiful wall hanger.

Very Cool!!! I have a buddy in Montana that I have hunted moose on his ranch, but never grizzly.

Always wanted to hunt a grizzly or kodiak but what the heck would I do with it...body..stuffed and mounted? Skin made into a wall hanger or rug? My buddy use to eat the meat...I think the last time we talked bear, I think he donates the meat to a Montana/local tribe.....Crow, Flathead, or Shoshoni?


Very cool, have tasted quite a few critters....never bear.

I have had brown bear and black bear. The black bear sausage I had was amazing. I have heard mixed reviews about steaks(toughness, flavor, etc), but a good sausage it certainly is....

I would love to give bear meat a try. I've had the privilege of eating a lot of wild game over the years, but bear is something I am yet to sample.

I have not had the privilege of tasting any wild game. I sampled some poorly made deer sausage and thats it. I want to taste a bison burger though.
