has anyone ever spotted a concealed weapon?

I've made someone out at the Skiatook Kum & Go while I was on duty. I walked towards the rear of the store to use the bathroom and he was squatting down to pick something up and his gun and holster was openly showing. I looked at him, he looked at me, covered his shirt, stood up and went to pay for his goods. His shirt was also obviously too tight for him. I was going to tell him that he needed to conceal his **** a little better, but I didn't care.

So what you are saying is you did not write him a ticket, or arrest him for brandishing, and get his ccl suspended? Since there have been many many discussions on this board about how it is illegal to print and accidentally exposing your ccw is brandishing.

But back on topic. I saw a gentleman ant a Honda dealer. This guy was wearing sweats, a fanny pack and a TPD hat. Hmmmm what was in that fanny pack?

I'm assuming that's sarcasm...

ok, thanks. I was just wondering if maybe, sometimes, we worry too much about it.

I do think we worry too much, mostly.

While driving (I carry at 1 o'clock appendix style) I usually tuck my shirt or sweater behind the gun/holster so it is easily accessible even while seat belted. Well one time I was like that and got out of the car and into Walmart essentially carrying openly. I was probably 20ft inside the store before I realized it and covered up. Not one person even batted an eye. Some say you could duct tape the gun to your forehead and no one would notice.

Not sure how much of it is gun friendliness or just plain bad SA. I tend to think the latter.

I once made someone at the dog area in Hunter Park. He had a PF-9 in his back pocket. I was going to tell him I could see it but then I overheard him tell someone else he was a BA cop.

i can't tell you all the number of rigs i've seen when someone reaches for their wallet. it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. if they notice me noticing, a lot of people apologize, i thank them for doing their part and talk shop.

the best one was an older customer, think someone's grandma, just came from the "casino" and had to move her little glock out of the way while digging in her purse for something. i found it amusing.

i've probably been made, but the look on someone's face when you "pat" it for reference during a conversation is priceless :)

I spotted one in Shawnee at the Walmart gas station. He was wearing the, unfortunately, all too familiar wannabe soldier garb. You know the funky flat top cammo hat and other army surplus junk including a rain slicker (it's easy to tell the difference between a real soldier and the wannabes - went to school with a lot of them). Had a bulge in the small of his back and seemed to realize he had it...you know...you could tell he had that same feeling you used to get when you first started carrying and wondered if anyone noticed. It was a bit unnerving because there was also this feeling you get with some of these types that make you wonder if they might be up to something bad. I watched him until he left then then made sure I knew where he was at the whole time I was within visual range. I apologize if I have offended anyone including the fella I was weary of but you can't be too careful these days and I believe in paying attention to the occasional "odd feeling" about someone. Incidentally I do wear a wear a shoot-me-first vest during the summer whether carrying or not because I like all the pockets.

Concealed carry is sometimes hard to hide, especially in the summer time when we can't wear much of jackets or sweatshirts. My t-shirts aren't long enough either, so most of the time I just keep it in the vehicle. Just be careful for those who do have the little "accidents" of showing a concealed weapon with a permit. Some of you may have heard of Erik Scott who had a cc license and still got killed by cops on "accident". Go check out his story: http://www.erikbscott.com/
It is very sad that some people are just uneducated and so afraid when someone has a weapon and that some are just so trigger happy. So for good sportsmanship and keeping everyone save, let us know when we expose ourselves on accident.
