HB 3354 - Open Carry

Here is my letter:
Subject: Please vote for HB 3354 and override Governor Henry's Veto

Dear Sen. Mazzei,

Today Governor Henry vetoed HB3354 which would have allowed Oklahomans with a concealed carry permit to carry arms openly. As you know, Open Carry is legal in many States and has not led to any increase in
crime or otherwise made these states appear negative to outsiders.


As you are my representative in the OK Senate, I urge you to please overide the Governor's veto and pass this bill into law. It is time Oklahoma allowed its residents the same freedoms that more than 40 other States allow.

the "better offer" .... Brad needed to save face with the National Party if he ever want's an appointment or support in any other political future endevors .

I'd expect with two weeks left... they may work an overide vote in... gets what the people want... Brad saves face with the socialists... wins all around.

Letters to your senator are fine but you need to start with your state representative. This bill goes back to the originating house for an override vote before it goes to the senate floor. Start the campaign with your rep!

I agree. I sent one to my rep as well. Unfortunately she (Pam Peterson) voted against it to begin with. But I sent one. I agree with you. We need to send to both.

I'm a cynical pessimist. Rarely disappointed, occasionally pleasantly surprised.

My prediction is that he will wait till the last day/minute and veto it. That will not give the legislature enough time ot even try to override. Dead in the water. All the bad people win, Gov don't care about us and he gets lib cred and all the elected reps that voted aye get to say we tried even though I suspect they knew all along exactly how it would end.

Isn't he a lawyer? How does he come off talking about problems with citizens "brandishing" in the streets? That was about the most moronic reason for veto I've ever seen. Ridiculous.
