Ownbey from Ardmore says it's simply a dress code and that businesses will refuse to allow any carry who do now allow concealed carry.
"Tear off that 2nd Ammendment ribbon and see this bill for what it is... a dress code... Look beyond the packaging."

Peterson from Tulsa is a CCW holder herself.... also believes it will cause more stores to stop allowing any carry. She says, "This is about displaying your firearm, not about your 2nd Amendment rights." She's also concerned with no retention training and no requirement of a retention strap. Brings up the assassination of Trooper Nick Green who was killed with his own weapon. Says someone at the cash register is going to get their gun stolen and shot. "A feel-good bill.... not about the 2nd Amendment, it's about displaying our weapon." Supports California's Open Carry with no bullets.

Suggests next year we amend for retention training in CCW classes and require a strap.

McCullough from Sapulpa:

"A strong undercurrent in OK for the use and carry of firearms."

After a year of thought, he wasn't ready to commit to open carry due to questions raised above, but he worked through them....

1. Has not seen any evidence or report or data that has been demonstrated that open carry is a detriment to public safety. Citizens should not be restricted in the absence of that data. Doubts many people will do this, but that is not the deciding factor, he believes it will not injure public safety and may enhance public safety.
